James Marshall
Managing Director

James founded Marprop in late 2007 following 15 years’ experience in commercial property markets in Australia, commencing in property development and then commercial investment sales and finally funds and investment management. James is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is Director and Responsible Manager of Marprop Financial Services Pty Ltd, a holder of Australian Financial Services Licence (no. 487440). Prior to founding Marprop, James gained experience in roles as an Executive and Director with Savills, Chesterton International, Project Control Group and Divome. 

Paul Badenhorst
Head of Asset Management

Paul has 29 years of experience in commercial real estate in the disciplines of asset management, valuation, finance, leasing and property management. He has worked nationally in Australia, as well as in the New Zealand and South African markets in the office, retail, industrial and hotel asset classes. His financial background, together with strong transactional delivery at an asset level, serves to drive portfolio and asset-specific performance. Paul holds accreditation from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, an MBA (Executive) and N.Dip (Property Valuation).

Nik Megay
CFO

Nik has over 18 years of experience in financial management and tax. Nik commenced his career in chartered environments, specialising in corporate and international tax with a particular focus on mergers & acquisitions, later moving into commercial roles with Macquarie Bank and Oracle. More recently, Nik spent the last seven years with Centuria Capital where he played a key role in executing a number of growth initiatives, including equity and debt capital markets transactions, and led the finance and reporting function for Centuria’s $14 billion unlisted funds platform across Australia and New Zealand. Nik is a member of Chartered Accountants ANZ.

Max Brodie
Asset Manager

Max has joined Marprop as an Asset Manager, bringing his experience in core plus and value add management.  In his previous role at one of Victoria’s largest private developers, Max managed part of a $1.8bn portfolio for Salta Properties.  In this role, he oversaw the acquisition and delivery of over $200,000,000 of new sites and development projects.  Previously, he has worked in property management in agency and family office at the Drivas Property Group.  He holds a B. Business & Commerce and is a member of the PCA and API.

Melinda Mangelsdorf
Executive

Melinda joined Marprop in 2021 to provide direct support to the Managing Director and the wider Marprop team. Through her experience across a diverse range of industries including luxury and boutique hotels, tourism, finance, and security, Melinda brings a wealth of project management skills and expertise honed over the last 20 years to lead the strategic operational activities of the Marprop business.

Alex Poneskis
Financial Controller

Alex brings over 8 years of post-qualification experience in finance and accounting. In his previous role at Bell Partners, Alex was responsible for managing a portfolio of clients within the real estate, construction, retail and hospitality sectors. With a proven track record in delivering results, he will leverage his expertise in corporate governance, financial reporting and analysis to drive success in the dynamic commercial real estate industry.  Alex is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance.

Mandy Lin
Finance Manager

Mandy brings over 7 years of finance experience in the property and funds management industry. Beginning her career with Deloitte in business advisory, she subsequently spent five years with Charter Hall where she held various roles. Mandy was responsible for the end-to-end financial and management reporting of Charter Hall’s Diversified Fund portfolio of over $3bn; including Charter Hall Social Infrastructure REIT (ASX: CQE), and several wholesale unlisted funds. Additionally, She played a crucial role in managing Charter Hall Group’s (ASX: CHC) Property Investment portfolio of $3bn. Mandy is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales.

Edward Banks
Assistant Asset Manager

Ed joined Marprop in 2023 as the Associate Asset Manager bringing a solid foundation in finance and a commitment to excellence to the team. Holding a Bachelor of Business degree with a major in Finance from the University of Technology Sydney, Ed possesses the skills necessary to navigate the intricacies of real estate investment to drive performance and deliver value to stakeholders.

Lachlan Bonser
Company Secretary

CA, ATI, JP – Lachlan Bonser has acted as a Company Secretary with Marprop entities since 2018. He has worked with businesses in Australia as an external advisor and maintains a role on client Advisory Boards. He has over 19 years of experience in Chartered Accounting and Business Advisory Services. In 2016 Lachlan established a Chartered Accounting Business, LB Advisory Chartered Accountants working closely with clients on establishing and maintaining reliable financial reporting and governance procedures. Lachlan is a member of Chartered Accountants ANZ and the Tax Institute, is a Registered Tax Agent, Registered ASIC Agent and a Justice of the Peace in NSW. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting.
